Becky Giammarino has shown to be an exceptional student throughout her time at Mount Royal University. She not only excels academically but is community-minded with strengths in hard and soft skills related to outdoor leadership and ecotourism. Becky has an exceptional attention to detail, she is a creative aspiring filmmaker, and is also a leading force in bringing health and wellness to our sector which is critical in this time of increased societal stress and poor nutrition. She finds time to support her peers and clients while also committing to a high standard of results in her projects. I have no hesitation in recommending Becky for an ecotourism or outdoor leadership role--she will not disappoint!

Re: Recommendation for Rebecca Giammarino
I am pleased to write a recommendation for Rebecca, a student in the Ecotourism and Outdoor Leadership (ETOL) program at Mount Royal University. I’ve worked with Rebecca in her role as a co-leader for a course I taught in the winter semester of 2014. She came highly regarded by her instructors as an emergent leader in the field with immense potential. Rebecca accompanied me for a weekend, co-leading a group of first year students enrolled in an introductory outdoor pursuits credit course.
Rebecca demonstrated exceptional leadership skills from the planning and implementation stages all the way through to our class debrief session. Although I had not met Rebecca previous to working with her in this instance, she immediately asked meaningful and pointed questions in order to become informed about the goals, purpose(s), participants, venue, and activities that the experience would include. She took on various responsibilities, including leading the group through the second day when I fell ill and needed to step back. She did this confidently and without hesitation.
Her commitment to professionalism is second to none; she carries herself in a manner that is respectful, easy-going, thoughtful, and good-humored. She is very conscientious of both the professional aspects of outdoor leadership and the relational aspects of working in an industry that is driven by people. I would recommend Rebecca as a leader in many contexts; she is one of the most exceptional students our ETOL program has enjoyed the privilege of working with.
Please feel free to contact me if you have any further questions.
Sincerely,
